Fun & Frustration-Free Private Ukulele Lessons from a Certified Music Educator with 10+ Years Experience

Hi! My name is Jacqueline Burd, or as my students call me, Ms. Jackie!

I am a certified music educator. I have taught music in public schools in New York City and New Jersey for 10 years and private music lessons for 15 years. I started teaching private music lessons online 3 years ago and fell in love with it!

I received my Master of Arts degree in Music & Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Ithaca College. I currently teach music full-time in public elementary schools and private music lessons part-time online. I love teaching music so much that I do both!

My goal is to make music learning engaging, joyful, and frustration-free! I have spent most of my career teaching elementary general music classes (to kindergarten-5th grade classes) and beginning and intermediate instrumental private lessons to students of all ages. I am very patient, friendly and encouraging!

Each lesson will typically include a warm-up(s), practicing specific chords and technique and learning a new song(s)/exercise(s) each week. For ukulele, students will learn how to play chords as well as melodies. I expect my students to review the material learned in each lesson multiple times before our next lesson to master what was learned, so that students can improve, grow and learn new things each week.
