Engaging piano lessons for beginners of all ages

Melody Cook is a private piano teacher in Rogersville, TN. She teaches beginner and intermediate students of all ages. Melody started teaching piano lessons in 2014, while studying piano performance at Valencia College in Orlando, FL. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelors degree in music composition in 2019.  Melody moved back to her home state of Tennessee in 2021, after moving her students online in 2020.

Melody teaches lessons online and in her home studio. She primarily uses Alfred’s Basic Piano Library lesson and theory books. Melody emphasizes learning to read, analyze and memorize music, playing expressively with a healthy posture, understanding music theory, and learning how to practice well between lessons.

Melody posts student recital recordings on the Melody’s Piano Studio playlist on her YouTube channel, @MelodysPianoStudio. She accepts recordings from her students each quarter, posting them individually as she receives them, and compiling them into a recital video to share with family and friends at the end of each quarter.

Melody is kind and patient, and keeps young students engaged and interested in their lessons. She has some experience teaching neurodivergent students. She is flexible and open to discovering new ways to accommodate students with special needs and enjoys working with all her students.
